I am a generalist. My Resume shows that I am an expert in many fields and walk comfortably through the walls that separate many traditional knowledge guilds.
My Online Journal - not a Blog, but an ongoing stream of observations gleened from online dialogue, redacted to protect the innocent.

You drove your car to a meeting on sustainability?! who the hell are you kidding?! Essays on sustainability and self-deceptionIn the course of my work, I collect a lot of information. I maintain this disparate collection of links in a simple classification structure that I called my Slice through the Internet For years I maintained a many-thousand volume inventory, and then came the Internet. But dead-tree books have many ergonomic advantages over computer-screens - you can read them in direct sunlight and you can leave them on a park bench for others to find. Be warned: GOOGLE has changed!!! Google's new Global Communications and Strategy VP, Dan Senor, was/is a Senior Associate at the Carlyle Group, was Scott McLellan's deputy spokesman at the White House and actually was head of the Disinformation Department for Paul Bremer's Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. Don't just take my word for it: Google him ... Obviously, there are several ways to see this change at Google. Let's hope the all the scary ones are wrong. Anyway, there is a lot of other VERY interesting stuff going on at Google besides GoogleScholar and those core AJAX-based show-ware betas: Google Suggest and GoogleEARTH are just the tip of the iceberg. There is also a lot of FUD emerging in the tech-aware world that has come to depend on the presumption that there is an inherent friendliness in Google.
