These images are a few selected from a phenomenal collection of historical photos in the possession of Ms. _____. Her husband ____ was employed by the County Assessor for many years and in the course of his work he collected historical photos of the area. Of the three boxes of photos once in this collection, only one box remains. They were digitized from photocopies made by Marty Peckman of Brothers Printing in Port Hadlock. It is hoped that the originals from this collection and other images in the possession of Ole Kilmer and Win Williams can also be assembled and digitized. These pictures were chosen becuase they demonstrate the almost unbelievable scale of development that once existed at the sounth end of the Logdump just south of the mouth of Chimacum Creek, ning of WWII when the population of Irondale exceeded that of Port Townsend. What makes these pictures so amazing today is that the mill site has now almost completely reverted to a condition most people would consider "natural".
