This map shows a mixture of things. The green parcels do not all belong to the public, at least not yet, nor are they likely to. This map was developed as part of a wetlands mitigation project recently undertaken by the Port of Port Townsend. These are the parcels that were targetted as potential mitigation sites. The map includes many of the parcels that are expected to be purchased by WDF and IAC in the immediate future, but negotiations are not taking place in the open, and detailed maps showing which parcels are currently "on the table" have not been made availible to me.
This map shows the enormous scale of the cooperative effort that is underway, and makes it clear how the proposed purchase dovetails with this ongoing effort.
