Pair ALTEC 604E Super Duplex loudspeakers w/ crossovers

|
ALTEC 604 E SuperDuplex loudspeakers
Co-axial 15 inch SuperDulpex 604-E Studio monitors in professionally-built unfinished soffit-mount triangular cabinets (pair)
White frame with ribs like a 421A and gray paint on alnico magnet and bakelite multicell horn. Serial numbers 391908 and 391849 are not truly sequential, but close. They were purchased as a pair. The N-1500 crossovers have been in use since new and there is a later pair of 604-G crossovers that are on the shelf in my office. Basically these speakers are faintly dusty on the outside but essentially MINT and in fine electrically with no scuffs, no damage to cones or treated-fabric surrounds, or the suspension spiders. In use as primary monitors in my system or my friends' systems since I got them in the late '70's. Drivers were rotated regularly to keep suspension centered. To the best of my knowledge they have always lived in smoke-free environments. Will dust them off and post better detail images in daylight - they just came out of the cabinets for the first time in over a decade last night The cabinets are free if you buy the speakers. Perfect for a 15' wide room. My guess is they are worth a little over 1.2 kilobucks.

GAUSS 1841
10" Ceramic Magnet Guitar Speaker
Dual spider 200-watt 8 ohm 10" guitar speaker aluminum dome. I have 2 more Gauss 10's - the P-A version of this speaker - paper dust cap and different cone material
and bibbed rather than smooth cone. They are currently mounted in my small PA system (in JBL cabinets) replacing a pair of JBL LE-10's that are awaiting a refoam job, but once the JBLs are running again those Gauss drivers are basically surplus as well. |

Electrovoice TW-35 supertweeters A PAIR w/CR-35 frequency dividing network 8 ohms alnico magnets same as Klipch T-77 'ALMOST NEW' - purchased new by me as a pair and installed in a small PA that was not used much. Probably still have the nifty trim rings for the level control on the crossovers and I may still have the cardboard boxes they came in.

Goodmans Triaxiom 3-way coaxial speaker

 |
Goodmans Triaxiom
- Sorry - this speaker has been STOLEN. the Meth people broke in again. Extremely British 15 inch 3-way coaxial speaker Imported by Allied Radio. Purple felt gasket on flange and red felt surround vents the voice coil, gold-colored cone Cast-throat coaxially mounted HF horn w/ external HF level control dividing network. Brown metallic paint on cast frame. An utterly gorgeous design, worthy of a plexiglass cabinet. High efficiency full-range 16 ohm rated 50 watts.

Electrovoice Aristocrat 3-way loudspeaker system (16 ohm drivers) in blonde finish E-V factory cabinets.
These are Klipsch-designed high efficiency folded corner-horns that use the
walls of the room behind the cabinets as part of the acoustical enclosure. Spectacular chrome-basket drivers,
SP-12 woofers with huge alnico magnets, rare stainless-steel covered mid-horn driver on
H-8 fiberglass horns, cast-aluminum T-35 horn super tweeters and X-8
and X-36 crossovers. The drivers are worthy of plexiglass cabinet panels on the
enclosures: E-V stuff simply never got prettier. I have searched pretty diligently but appear to have lost one of
the metal grills from one of the cabinets (face w/o metal grill shown in thumbnail).otherwise the cabinets are well-matched in terms of finish though one is somewhat more distressed than the other. These
speakers predate the wide distribution of stereo gear and were not initially sold or purchased as a pair. One of the woofers has a whizzer cone, the other does not,
but the driver compliment is quite well matched Click either image to

JBL 2404H (8 ohm) NOS from late 1980's. s/n 25838
As new, but with fingerprints. In the JBL carboard box that it came in. Has been out of box, but never mounted or fed a signal since it shipped.
We used to buy these by the dozen for use in line arrays in mid-sized 4-way
concert PA systems. You know what they cost new. They are pretty much always going for over $100 used.
I have one left and it needs a home. |

JBL 2165A coaxial 2-way 12" loudspeaker (8 ohm) Same as LE 12C The crossover and HF level control are missing. White cone, accordion-pleated surround. Suspension is fine. Tweeter still works. Awesome guitar speaker with low power amp. My all-time favorite speaker for use with the tweed Deluxe. |

JBL D-123 12 loudspeaker (8 ohm) cool, early-style frame, black-crackle finish, brown treated-fabric surround.

JBL 16-H horn without L-91 acoustic leness (PAIR)

For JBL LE-85 or similar driver horn w/o L91 acoustic lens (PAIR). Great shape.

JBL 075 Bullet tweeter 16 ohm
|
JBL 075 Bullet tweeter 16 ohm Very good shape, though there are scratches on the finish. With nifty JBL mounting support ring for free-standing display, so it can be free air mounted above your cabinet and time aligned. Has been used in smokey places, so it does not look new, but it still looks really cool and cymbal sounds sizzle so sweetly. The rest of the world accepted cheap dome tweeters cuz they were cheap, not because they were great. This is a great object d'art. Hifi never got prettier; not even boutique turntables have reached this level. This was the spare tweeter for my S8R system.

JBL 2110 20 watt extended range 8" Alnico magnet This is a full Range Speaker with a rectangular flange. 8 ohms. (holding up the 0-75 ring radiator) I used to have 3 of these but the theives took 2. I replaced the rotten foam on this driver with an experiment, before the foam kits were available - thin layer of urethane-bond. close but no banana. Not quite complaint enough for bass - a bit too stiff.
Needs a re-foam kit. These are basically my all-time favorite JBL full-range drivers. Here is a great write-up from 1977
