PORT TOWNSEND FOOD COOP'S PRODUCT SELECTION GUIDELINES COMMITTEE

THE CHINA PROBLEM PRODUCT LABELING THE UNACCEPTABLE INGREDIENTS LIST THE BASIS OF A BOYCOTT POLICY

OUR COMMITTEE'S CHARTER: To assure that our Mission, Principles, and Product Selection Criteria are integrated into our Food Coop's policy governance documents so that they can effectively guide decisions about the products on the shelves and member education about those products. The radically changing 'organic' food supply has created situations where our behavior -- what is on our shelves -- may contradict our mission. Until the committee does the work, we will not know whether it is our behavior or our principles that have to give ground.
